singing while applying makeup &I GOT MY HAIR DONE!

FILE UNDER: TOTALLY EMBARRASSING

Yes, the above video is totally embarrassing and I posted it anyway (if you can’t see it here, it’s still living somewhere deep in my youtube channel). I’ll probably regret it later tonight or most likely Sunday evening. You don’t have to watch it. {also, its original purpose was to show the before version of my hair}

For some reason, every Sunday evening I go through about an hour of complete and total self doubt upon reviewing my previous week’s antics in my head. It’s horrible but after my inevitable shame attack I’m usually left with a “who cares anyway” attitude. Whatever it takes, I suppose.

No, this is not my best singing ever. I. don’t. care. Because this is pretty much what I look like while getting ready …and singing. Although I’m out of breath because I was rushing to get to my hair appointment.

I am in love with my hair girl. Nikki. She is A-MAZING! She’s 8mos preggo right now and so freaking adorable I cannot stand it. And while I get a large helping of anxiety right before getting my hair done {which I cannot understand for the life of me but if you follow my twitter updates you will see my mania} it’s always worth it because 1. Nikki is super awesome and fun to spend 2 hours with and 2. Because she does my hair EXACTLY how I want her to EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I have been going to her now for about 5 years which is UNHEARD of for me …and those reasons mentioned above are why. In addition to being totally awesome and doing exactly what I want, she’s quick {2hours is totally quick yo, I have a ton of hair!} and she is totally reasonable. For instance, today, she highlighted, toned, cut and blew dry my hair and charged me $150….so I gave her $200 and still felt like I should have given her more. I have been to salons {eh he, Jonathan Antin} who have charged me over $400 and I’ve left HATING my hair because they do what they want to do …not what I WANT!

So, here’s my new hair. It’s very similar to the uge BUT she cut off about 3 inches from the bottom. I told her I wanted a 70’s feel. Parted down the middle and really only two layers …and long layers at that. I also asked her to do less highlights as I really do like the darker root trend. {please ignore the ridiculous faces I am making ….lol …it’s about the hair people}

If you live in LA {or the Valley ~ or don’t mind driving to the Valley – some Hollywood types are Valley Snobs, just fyi} and want to go to Nikki {she’s only avail now on Friday and Saturday for the next two weeks then maternity leave for two months} She’s at a salon on the corner of Ventura and Coldwater above Coffee Bean called Krystal …her chair is right as you walk in the front door …the first one you see.
