I don’t normally buy Guess shoes. In fact I haven’t purchased an item from Guess since my {1980’s infatuation with the label} aqua acid wash guess bag {which I hope I still have somewhere} and my ankle zipper jeans with the signature triangle on the back pocket.
One Christmas {I must have been 11} I got a jean skirt, a pale blue & white striped button down, and a bag {all Guess} and I was in heaven. I also got a neon pink and green skateboard that year that said AWESOME on the front and had huge wheels …there is a photo of me wearing that outfit + brown boots and riding that board on Christmas day in the nice warm sun. {note to self: must find that photo}
Anyway, I found these shoes at Nordstrom.com and purchased them thinking if they sucked, I’d just send them back …and I am happy to report that I LOVE THEM. First of all, let me just say that I am more comfortable in heels than flats. Try as I might, I really and truly have a problem walking in flats. Flat sandals and flip flops and flat boots even are fine but cute little ballet flats are really difficult for me. It’s a balance thing. It’s just not right. That being said, these heels are ultra comfy! They feel really sturdy and are easy to walk in. They’re like a boot/sandal all in one and in the winter, I’m thinkin’ bout wearing them with socks. I know, I know. But I’ll make it work 😉
None of these photos do them {or my rad outfit today} justice. Not a one. As you can see {above} I tried to capture the look with ibooth on my mac at work and with limited time and space, this is all I got. But you get the picture.
And Now, For The Guy’s Perspective
Hubby’s opinion on the shoes: not so much. He says there’s a lot going on but not enough for “a lot going on” shoes. I think he just wants to see the straps and not the big leather piece in front. “But those would be a completely different pair of shoes” {I told him} and if we dressed for men, we’d all be wearing tight-ass stripper-ho outfits with tall black boots. nuff said.
