My Bedroom Reveal / Peachy Pinks, Black, Gold and Green / Decor Inspired by The Beverly Hills Hotel meets Mad Men

Welcome to my new bedroom. . .

Get cozy for a minute while I explain what you’re seeing 😆

Aside from the gold pendant ceiling fan mounted to the ceiling YES IT’S A TINY CEILING FAN DISGUISED AS A RETRO PENDANT AND I LOVE IT because I do not love ceiling fans, nothing in this room is new. If you’re a long time follower, you might recognize all of these pieces from rooms and houses of yore… 🤣 but here’s a little refresher: my gold tree stump accent tables have been in a game room/den, the long hallway sitting area, and then in three primary bedrooms (onetwothree (at Le Dome)), you’ve also seen this black bed frame in two other primary bedrooms, here and here, which I purchased specifically for my first house in Lake Arrowhead because it had a half slanted roofline and this was the only black bed frame I could find that would fit, along with the rug, in those same rooms, where I had a similar color scheme but very different now.

The blush pink curtains I bought years ago, but linked an almost identical match (AND I FINALLY added curtain pins/rings after all these years) have always been in my offices, starting with this one, then in the A Frame mountain office, the townhouse, which I never shared, in my office at Le Dome, and now in my office here as well (haven’t shared it here yet) BUT I’m so happy that I had enough panels to use in my bedroom because I am LOVING this color palette. The black chairs were once in my office, and then in a different primary bedroom in a different house, along with dark teal ottomans (which you can see in this post).

The vintage Capodimonte table lamps from the 1930s-40s I think (which were my grandma’s and one of my FAVORITE items of hers – I also have a candy dish and bell in similar motif sitting on my dresser) were in my original office/closet/dressing room and then in my second office, and they’ve been packed up ever since, so I was extremely happy to get to use them again.

As for Art… the banana leaf palm art print from THEAESTATE has been in my office, kids room, and multiple bathrooms. The vintage ’60s Mid Century Modern gold floral wall art set of 4 above my bed once hung in my office under a window. I had no intention of hanging them above my bed but found them in storage when I moved and there were already two of the 4 nails in the wall so when I hung them up and they worked, I was excited and hung the other two.

The dripping flower painting, by me, was in my A-Frame Office, in the townhouse, and at the top of the stairs at Le Dome. I also have my I Love You canvas above my TV (which is entirely filled in by the way), but that wall isn’t quite finished as I have my TV sitting on my dresser and it should be hanging on the wall. Although I don’t mind it, it makes the wall space above the TV awkward for hanging art.

The blush pink comforter set and sheets are more recent, purchased for my bedroom at the townhouse and also used at Le Dome. And last, but not least, the two white Ikea dressers, which I thought I’d be able to use in my closet (like I did in the Townhouse closet and Le Dome closet), unfortunately made their way into the bedroom, which I am not overly excited about, but they get the job done for now. If you’re a REALLY OG follower, you might recognize these from the Valley House closet/office and originally in the bedroom of the condo my ex-husband and I lived in when I started my blog and I think we bought them in 2005, which means. . . they’re almost 20 YEARS OLD, and though they’re not the best to look at, I’d say they’ve definitely stood the test of time, as far as Ikea furniture goes.

PHEW! THAT WAS A LOT!

But now that it’s out of the way, my theme for this room, which takes into consideration the color palette, was The Beverly Hills Hotel (i.e. the banana leaf palm print, the leafy greens, tufting and the peachy pinks) meets Mad Men… it’s the hints of ’60s and gold, shapes and drapes. And in fact, I believe the wall art hanging above the bed, which I found at a thrift shop years ago, also adorned a wall above a bed in a hotel scene on an episode of Mad Men, but I can’t remember which one.

Let me also say that I shot these photos on three different days… and unfortunately didn’t pay too close attention to how I actually made the bed on the day I shot most of them… THUS, the wrinkled white sheet that folds over way too far BUT THAT ALSO is too short on the far side… all of which is driving me crazy, but probably something you might not have even noticed had I not mentioned it, because now you’re DEFINITELY GOING TO NOTICE 😆
