October is by far my favorite month because HALLOWEEN, of course, but it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness month, so I couldn’t NOT mention it in some form or another because it’s important to all of us and we all know someone affected by this terrible disease {and we all hope that it never comes after us}. And since I don’t really share nail art tutorials anymore, I thought this pink manicure by Lauren B. Beauty for Breast Cancer Awareness was a nice way to merge the two together. And though it’s clearly not curing cancer, bringing more attention to it is important so we can someday find a cure…
Using three pink shades, City of Angels, Clueless in 90210, #ImSoLA, Lauren B. Beauty created a pink ribbon accent nail and layered it with an array of different colors in the form of polka dots. You can add a ribbon on every nail, two nails, or just one accent nail like they did, and/or create other accent nails to go with it, like the rockstud nail right next to it… and here’s a quick step-by-step for a little inspiration…
Step 1: Apply one coat of Lauren B. Beauty Nail Perfecter as the perfect base coat. Let dry for 1-2 min.
Step 2: Apply two coats of light pink, City of Angels lacquer. Let dry for 2-3 min.
Step 3: On the accent nail using a very thin pointed brush, paint on the breast cancer ribbon using #ImSoLA.
Step 4: Using a small nail art dotting tool or toothpick, apply tiny dots to the ribbon with Clueless In 90210 and City of Angels. Let dry for 1 min.
Step 5: Apply Lauren B’s Gel-like Top Coat for a perfect long-lasting manicure! Let dry for 3-4 min.
Optional: For some extra flare, add some silver studs using a small dab of topcoat to the nail and then apply the studs.
