I had never heard of this artist before – very different. The softness of the childlike faces combined with harshness of other images such as the meat in the dress or in other works, blood makes it sort of like an acid trip through Wonderland with Alice.
If you look further there is an assortment of amazing details that further contrasts and conflicts and subliminally agitates, yet makes you want to look at it again.
While I don’t think I would want one of the painting on a wall in my home, it would be an interesting piece to display in a public setting and fantastic for a magazine piece as the images do draw you in and make you take a second look.
ooh thanks for the tip! I’d love to see more of his work! I think I saw in Studio City over the weekend. I would have stopped but I didn’t want to be awkward!
I saw his works, I must say -He is a very talented artist, some pics are amazing, fanstastic, inspiring, some a little scary 😉 but it’s positive crazy art, hugs!
thanks for posting this! I was just at the bookstore yesterday and came across his work for the first time and almost bought his book. Now after seeing your post here I might have to go back and get it!

I love Contemporary art, esp Girly Gothic (is that’s what it’s called)? I lean toward anything unconventional.
I’m in LA this week, wanna get some coffee and shop till we drop. cause there are just some things I can’t find in Japan…
