Maybe Next Year I’ll Give It To Someone Special

What I’ Wearing…

* Stretch velvet floor length dress with rhinestone details and side slit from Laundry by Shelli Segal… I’m wearing a 4. I’m almost 5’7″ and the length is pretty perfect {compared to the model in the photo, which it looks a little short on} Runs true to size, is lined and heavy so it’s totally flattering and it’s super comfortable – but yes, I was cold standing in heels in the snow 😉
* Vintage jacket
* Simple barrette with a vintage necklace pinned over it
* Silver sequined clutch
* DIY Ankle Strap Heels… had to keep a closed toe for the snow, which I wouldn’t have normally opted for, but I actually liked the look better than sandal.

* Title: Wham! – Last ChristmasOnce bitten and twice shy… I keep my distance but you still catch my eye… Tell me baby do you recognize me? Well it’s been a year, it doesn’t surprise me…

Uhhhhh only the BEST Christmas song ever!!!

I watched the movie Keanu last night and while I lolled a few times, my favorite thing about it was the ongoing George Michael reference… which was hysterical. I mean why George Michael? I adore him and Wham!, which I grew up listening to, but what made them decide on that artist specifically? I mean, it was fantastically funny and I would’ve loved to be in the room when they were writing the script and brainstorming the perfect artist in which to feature… like who were their other choices, or was it ALWAYS George Michael? Anyway, it made me giggle.

I’m feeling a little nostalgic today because it was today four years ago that I moved up here to Lake Arrowhead, and I’m still in awe of this beautiful little mountain town. My life changed drastically that day back in 2012 but to be honest, my life has changed more in these last four years, and specifically, these last eight months, than it had the previous ten before.

I think there’s really something incredible about living so close to and among nature. The energy of the ancient trees that are as tall as the buildings I grew up next to in LA, are far superior than any man made structure – for your soul and well-being, anyway. It hasn’t always been easy in the years I’ve been here, in fact, quite possibly some of my most challenging times have been in the recent past, but it’s definitely been a new adventure and new things and new projects are in the works, and I’ve made more amazing friends up here than I could’ve ever imagined and that’s a wonderful thing. I feel like I talk about it all the time, and it’s probably one of those things that makes your eyes roll hearing me say it over and over, but I’m so grateful to be exactly where I want to be. I often think that even if I were a billionaire, I wouldn’t leave… I wouldn’t change much about my life at all… I’d continue to work and do what I do and I think that’s really a true testament to living authentically and feeling so lucky that I get to live a life that I love and call this wonderful place home.

I hope you’re happy where you are because life’s too short to be existing in a life that doesn’t make you feel alive… believe me, I know the feeling. But as hard as change is, there is true transformation when everything you’ve come to know as normal falls apart… but then and there is where the magic happens and life is yours to create.
