I had A BLAST Wednesday night at the People’s Choice Awards at the Microsoft Theater at LA Live on behalf of Walgreens and Procter & Gamble and Covergirl. It was a hundred million surreal moments all wrapped up into one amazing day and night that I will never forget.

After braving the LA rain and the sea of press and photographers and media on the red carpet to capture some real-time moments of the celebrities heading into the show, we headed in as well, found our seats, and were surprised and amazed by the proximity of our seats to the stage. THEY WERE AWESOME!

But FIRST… My Glam Makeover!

If you followed my Snaps {maegantintari}, you’ve probably already gotten a good glimpse into the morning and glam makeovers we got, but here’s a bit more detail on MY fabulous makeover for the show.

Since both of my dresses had a ’60s vibe AND since I have blonde hair and bangs at the moment, I thought I’d go with a Brigitte Bardot look. Even though I found a new dress at the last minute, a classic ’60s moment is always a winner in my opinion, so I think it worked regardless.

After Abel rocked my glam ’60s makeup look using my Covergirl products I bought at Walgreens last week, I sat down with Laura and simply had to mention “Bardot” and she knew exactly what to do. We went with her classic “half-up” look, but began with fluffy loose waves using Pantene’s alcohol free *Air Spray to lock in the perfect volume and curl.

With a little texturizer in my bangs, a ton of back-combing for the perfect ’60s Bardot pouf, and about ten lbs of hair spray, I was ready to head to the ceremony.

And… Voila!

From beginning to end, the show was a hilarious mix of song and dance and continued to make us laugh for the next two hours. Knowing who was on the red carpet gave us a clue as to whom was actually at the show as well, celebrity-wise, of course, but there were a few that shocked me giddy.

I love that The PCAs are a little more playful than other award ceremonies because the red carpet looks range from edgy to cocktail to very formal and anything really goes! We saw a few great hair trends from super sleek top knots, and those perfectly messy California boho up-dos, but soft, pretty, loose waves were the preferred a-list red carpet look from short hair to long, middle part to side.

Walgreens gives back

Ellen DeGeneres received the fourth annual People’s Choice Award for Favorite Humanitarian, presented by Walgreens who have also donated $100,000.00 to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Ellen’s charity of choice.

This announcement truly blew me away and brought tears to my eyes as I was sitting among the audience, but filled me with joy and pride to be there on behalf of Walgreens, a moment I will remember forever.

For every purchase of CoverGirl, Pantene, Crest or Oral-B 3DWhite sold at Walgreens/Walgreens.com between 1/6 and 1/9, a $1 donation will be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital! How amazing is THAT!??! So head to Walgreens and shop your favorite P&G brands to help give back too!
