I met these littles in the summer of 2017 when Peyton had just turned 6 and Allie was just about to be 4… Peyton is 8 now and Allie just turned 6 this month! I know it’s ridiculously cliche to say, but where does the time go?
It literally feels like yesterday when we were in the middle of renovating Dogwood Tavern and we created a little play area for them in a space we now know as the dry food storage. Don’t worry, it’s actually quite large, with a large opening and no door at all, but it was one of the first areas of Dogwood that was complete and clean and made a perfect little play area for the girls when they came in with their daddy when we had to work.
Allie was just starting to like unicorns then, and had the cutest pair of unicorn vans with little horns at the top of the tongue. Two years and two months later, her unicorn obsessions has peaked. So, of course, a unicorn themed party was an obvious choice, and she loved it!
My friend Shayla made the cake… and I’m dedicating most of the photos in this post to the cake, because it’s the star of the party… and actually, it was just a little family party with the four of us, but Allie was surprised and excited and when we cut into the cake, we got another surprise! Three moist cakes in different colors lined with buttery frosting in between. IT was DELICIOUS!

I tied my DIY Floral hair clips-turned Christmas tree ornaments-turned festive garland that adorned the cow skull but that no longer works with my color scheme so they’re sitting in a bowl in the master, onto the blinds and set the extras on the table. The girls just instinctively put them in their hair without my help. It was adorable really!
