I think I’ve had this top for nearly a year now… actually, it’s probably only been about six months, and I have yet to wear it. It’s not that I don’t like it, because I do, I love it, but it loses detail when I wear a tank beneath it and wearing just a bra doesn’t always seem like enough. The problem with the sheerness is where the peplum seam hits at the waist in contrast to where my jeans hit at my hips, generally giving the illusion that my belly is pooching out, when it is NOT. And when you work hard making sure your abs are flat, to have a shirt just ruin that for you -makes you not want to wear it.
But isn’t it strange, when you try to think back to when you bought something, a rush of memories flood your mind to remind you what you were doing at the time and/or how much time has passed in between… highlighting the things you have and/or haven’t done, the goals you’ve accomplished and the desires you still have lingering, yet to be fulfilled, if ever.
That may have been the longest run-on sentence I’ve ever written, which began about a top and ended about life, but it’s relevant, I promise.
I wore this last Thursday, for a friend’s birthday dinner… but if you follow me on Snapchat you’d know that I changed my top, shoes, and jacket before I left, but I left the red lips… because it’s a rare occasion that I leave the house in red lips, and I kind of loved it. I also managed to keep said red ON my lips without getting it all over my face, ending the evening looking like a clown, which is an accomplishment in and of itself.
Off-topic…
I’m LOVING back and forth bangs… they’re a little longer than normal but I definitely will keep some version of them so I can go back and forth, because you know I love options. I really just wonder what took me so long to realize it.
