What I’m Wearing
* Vintage dress …70’s -polyester shirt dress with a 60’s color palate …no tag & possibly hand made
* Black tights …old
* Vintage Black cropped blazer …Bill Kaiserman. …last seen here This is my all-time favorite jacket/blazer. I found it at a thrift shop in Burbank years ago for $20 but in the last year, the elbows have torn so I try not to wear it too often as to preserve it. I’m thinking about taking it to someone to recreate it. I just love the fit of it.
* Velvet Angels naked lunch wedge bootie …last seen here
* Vintage stretchy belt {hidden}
* Black vintage plastic sunglasses
Thoughts on viewing the outfit before I wear it? I like the idea of seeing it hanging on a hanger vs. how I end up wearing it because as you can see, they are very different. It may open doors of creativity whilst gazing into your own closet trying to figure out what to wear. I’m thinking maybe instead of creating a post for it, I’ll just twitpic it in the future {although not all of you follow me on Twitter} …again, thoughts? yay or nay? …twitpic or post?

While I think the night-time outfit posts are fun, are you really going to want to do this every night? Surely you’ll change your mind by morning some days.
I only say this because I usually set out my outfit the night before so I GET your excitment. I love it. I KNOW the next day will be good because I’m wearing my favorite jeans and new v-neck… I even throw the necklace over the hanger so I can see it with the shirt.
Anyway, yes post away! It’s fun to see! I just know (and I believe you to be the same) that by morning, I’m sometimes TOTALLY over any wild ideas I had the night before.
Great blog. 🙂
Jacqueline
I love how you started posting the hanger shots of the clothing before wearing. I have thought about doing so too, but just lazy =) I also love your blazer!

I think it’s fun to see the outfit on the hanger and then you. The look really comes alive when you can see it on you. Love it.

I like seeing the night before pictures. Like you said, it’s interesting to see how different it looks the next day when you’re wearing it. I follow you on Twitter so I’ll see it either way 🙂 Your outfit posts are such a great inspiration!
Christina
You’re right that it looked a LOT different on the hanger… wasn’t that impressed when I saw it. But worn, it looks great. And since I already follow you on Twitter… Twitpic away! 😉

Keep up the groovy blogging;)
Diane
love this outfit! the dress is really cool.

I like the thought of having the night-before hanging outfit POST because I am rarely on Twitter!
Jacqueline
Looks completely different on you. So much younger, fresher, and overall cuter. It’s interesting to see the difference and makes me more aware of the fact that I should be more willing to try on pieces that interest me instead of disregarding them just because I don’t like the way they hang on a hanger.
Glamour Bbey.
Gorgeous look girl! This suits you lovely, And I love your hair!
gina
I like seeing the outfit on the hanger. I don’t use Twitter, so I prefer a night-before post. Or a hanger photo at the bottom of the outfit post, kind of like a before and after.
This outfit looks great on you, btw. The dress looks very different on you.
Angela
I vote post, because I always keep up with your blog, but twitter is just too hard for me to get to consistently. And, this is all about me, after all. So, my opinion is the only one that counts. =^)
I did really like seeing it beforehand. It potentially helps people see their own things in a new light.
Mary
I vote for post as well!
Chessa!
I have a fave blazer too. I can’t live without it…if anything ever happened to it I would cry. this looks fab.
jennine
i say if it doesn’t kill you do to it, then do it!
it’s nice to see the before shots, but not really necessary. i used to do it, but it just got to be a headache as taking hanging picutres indoors can be difficult to look good.
your outfit is absolutely gorgeous!
~alison
post it!
Hanako66
love this outfit…the layering is great, though it is so freaking hot outside today!
I like the twitpic idea…or post, either way it’s cool to see the transformation!
Summer
Oooooh, I love this one!!! For shizzle.
And twitpics of the night before sound fab…go for it!
God's Favorite Shoes!
I say post the look on the hanger…I am believer in things looking different on the body vs. hanger.

Super cute outfit, and your makeup/hair are just so beautiful.

i like the idea of “previewing” the outfit haha. i like to plan my outfits but sometimes i wimp out.
ps: LOVE the outfit!

What about having detachable elbow patches? They could mix and match with your outfits and you could still wear your favorite blazer, although you should probably still have it recreated…
Heather
Def better on you. Love the vintage dress and I like how it pops with the black.
Honestly, I could do without the hanger pic. 🙂
Thanks for the comment on my blog post today.

There is no way you are 33! Great finds, the print on that dress is so unique. Where are those shoes from though!? Stunning…
So glad I can across your blog, I love your style

Retro is not my thing. The hair, shoulder pads and starched collars… you’re better than that.
Girl Japan: April Marie
I lurv the collar on that dress/shirt, the design.. very modern-retro chic… and I adore it. You look fab as always Maegan!
Jill
That’s how I figure out my looks for the day. I drape necklaces, hang shoes from the hanger, etc. I must say your look looks much better on the human hanger than the clothes hangar!
I just realized that everytime I try to order something without my husband knowing…the frigging fedex, UPS dude always delivers when my husband is home. Do you think money is being exchanged under the table and they have a pact? I can’t get anything past him!
kaitlin
post, please 🙂 but maybe in the same post as the the completely gratuitous outfit post? on the hanger vs. on the gal?
Saskia
I’d love to see the look on the hanger beforehand… I’d prefer post over twitter – timezone’s & twitter don’t work so well (:

Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.
Caroline, no.
honestly, I don’t think you need to do the evening pics. you are what brings it all alive in the pics. plus, it’s just more work you don’t need! just my opinion. (i’m happy to look at as many phots as you produce! love the blog.)
thanks maegan!
rani
