DIY Gift Idea // Minimalist Framed Floating Leaves & Flowers

minimalist framed floating leaves and flowers diy

I can’t imagine this is the first time I’ve seen something like this, but it feels new somehow with the bright green leaves and florals floating between glass suspended in beautiful frames. I love the blank space in between that will allow your wall to show through and would look gorgeous alone, in a group of 2 or more or scattered among a gallery wall. It’s so easy to forage gorgeous bits of nature from where you live or even grab some beauties from a nursery for a fresher look.

I love the idea of making them as gifts for friends and family… and such a fun and beautiful way to capture nature forever.

I spotted these natural beauties originally at Decor 8‘s BLICKFANG DESIGN FAIR HAMBURG: REVIEW and realized they’re just genius ways to display the handcrafted oak Frames by MOEBE from Denmark.

Aren’t they just beautiful though?

I may actually be doing this DIY in the near future.

They’re just so beautiful simply sitting on a window sill, allowing sunlight and nature to shine through.

This looks way easier than it actually is because the finesse here looks perfect here. I don’t think I can top that. But just the look of it, so so refreshing and soothing. I have to share this on our DecorNation’s page!! Thanks for sharing this. 🙂

If you’ve ever dried flowers you know that they keep their colour. I would look up flower pressing on You Tube. You really only need large, heavy, hard bound books. If they’re just for flower pressing get them at garage sales, library book sales and thrift stores. If you want to display them while drying your flowers look up how to make book covers on You Tube and add new interesting titles and wittily named authors. Think puns.
Be aware that the sun will eventually leach the colour from your foliage. Try to find UV protection for glass to help them keep their colour. Changing them out for ones hung in not sunny areas such as the bathroom and bedrooms to lengthen the life of your collection.
    Have fun.
