So, because the prom photo is not embarrassing at all ..I thought I’d give you my 1990 Homecoming photo …which is absolutely 100% embarrassing. …. and I’m thinking I should send it to Sexy People.
First of all, that was my 8th grade graduation dress and I wore it again for homecoming as a freshman in high school {14yrs old here peeps} …I also wore it later in my teens to play “Barbie” at a little girl’s birthday party …I know …ridiculous. Secondly, I look like a boy with that hairstyle {I think it’s a french braid} …and lastly, no make-up …really Maeg?
Before making our way to the dance, we all met at Jerry’s Deli on Ventura Blvd. in Studio City {which is literally 5 minutes from where I am living right now} …and 5 more minutes from our high school. I wasn’t really close to any of the girls in this group {yet} and I was really shy then. My date, whom I barely knew, gave me a grandma pin-on corsage the size of a salad while all the other girls got wrist corsages made of tiny white and red roses …and I was so embarrassed that I turned mine into a wrist corsage …which was totally rude to do to my date …my date whom I barely knew. lol. {click to enlarge the photos at your own risk}
K @ Blog Goggles tagged so many people I’ll leave this to you. ..If you want to share your embarrassing prom and homecoming photos, please do so! {also, I think I’ve been tagged with a few others …anyone want to refresh my memory if I haven’t done it yet? …I do it today}

That first dress is really pretty! And did you burn that guy’s face in the second photo?
Yasmin
I often try to forget BOTH my proms. They were not so fun, but at least I had great dresses!
Kellie
Those are great! I love the hand holding in your 2nd pic. It’s like he has cooties and you don’t want to touch him too much. 🙂
Bella
Ohmygod, these shots are too awesome! xxx
Kristin
Dang you look chic for 1994. I shudder just thinking about my red sequined 1997 masterpiece.
Chessa!
you look fantastic! nice bow on your 8th grade dress. hotness. 😉
OMG–My prom photos are at my parents’ house somewhere in the depths of my old bedroom. I am still friends with my sr. prom date. he’s such a sweetheart. I still have all of my dresses…I freaking loved them and still do. sigh…and btw, your hair cut may look like a “boy( I don’t think so…) but at least you didn’t look like a crazy frizz head like me. oy. those were some BAD hair days.
...love Maegan
lololol!!!! …I think I was sporting a french braid …HOT… ummm Dorky’s ..kinda ..I just cloned his suit over his face in photoshop … I’m not sure if any of these folks want to be seen online or on my blog ..lol.

I liked to read the story about you introducing yourself. First you had other blogs, then finally this one. Reminds me of me. Lots of ideas, try them out, don’t like it anymore, easily bored. Try a new one. I guess friends of mine sometimes get crazy of me! haha
Hanako66
haha! I love this tag….so great. I can’t wait to dig mine up tonight!
Kate
I went to Jerry’s (in Westwood) after my prom!

Get out of my dreams.

You have a lot of guts to post this. Thankfully, all of my old Prom Photos have been lost to the ages……
Sweet Nothings

Laura
This is so awesome and took guts to share. I love how the girls are blacked out. I wish I could do that to some of my photos 🙂
Come and stop and see my chick chat video about my life in San Francisco 🙂
Lacey
How fun! I love looking back on the fashions in old pictures because at the time we felt so pretty and put together!
Shalay
I love the hair. Even the ’97 photo. Everyone had to have super hairsprayed, tight ringlets in their hair. It’s hilarious. Great pics.
Yaya
Love the white!
Mrs. D
There’s nothing like a giant bow on your crotch to set off a look, huh? Lol. I really like your 1994 dress, stylish now and then.
The Alleged Ringleader
Those are TOO awesome! I swear mine are just as ridiculously fab!
drollgirl
bahahah!!! you look great!!! she tagged me, too. horrors!
Kez
My high school prom date had to borrow my brother’s shoes. He had a “suit” that consisted of mismatched things that were too big for him.
I was so embarrassed and wished I had invited his best friend instead (who was also a good friend)!
Big Red
Too adorable. Makes me kind of miss the early 90’s.
freeTEYme
you look the same as your prom picture – like you have not aged! Gorgeous!!

First, that swirly thing with the faces is really creepy, although I understand why you do it.
The 1990 prom pic is totally hilarious! You are really pretty in it, even without makeup, but that dress with the big bow is priceless. I really liked this post a lot. xo
Elizabeth Victoria C
oh my gosh i loveeee the homecoming photo!! you were adorable. you did look lovely at prom though! white looks amazing on you xo
Kelli
I love that you don’t care about posting funny, old school photos of yourself! So many people on the net are only concerned with showing their best side, or most beautiful… whatever.
Your real-ness is appreciated!
syd vicious

apriliniowa
Loving these time warp themes that are popping recently. I blogged about something akin to this on Monday but failed, miserably, in the photo department. Love these! We’re the same age-I’m 32, also. But look maybe 57 compared to you in both my Iowan whacko clothing style and face. Ye mami?!?< I'm now depressed.
I do know, for a fact, that everyone I went to school with paid way more money for dresses that were sickly unattractive and were not worn by movie stars for far more though. Even for Iowa. Way back then! I went to prom with a senior my freshmen year and thought it was lame and never went again. I do so regret that though. I wish I had prolonged, often, being a child. I am constantly telling pre-teens to slow down now, it seems.;)
With that, stay cute as a button. ~heather
