Title: lyrics from Lorde “Tennis Court”

I started watching Gossip Girl on Netflix from the beginning about a month ago as a sort of last-ditch effort to keep me busy while I was having sleep issues in the wee hours of the morning… and I hate to admit it, but at least once a day I get excited for my “sleep routine” now that it includes watching an episode or two of GG. It’s also fun to watch now that I know who Gossip Girl is, but admittedly, I’m enjoying it this time around just as much as I did in real time a few years ago. It’s just so pretty… pretty girls and pretty boys, with pretty hair and pretty makeup, and pretty filters that blur out their skin to perfection, and brightly colored clothes, and fancy places to wear them for no actual reason, complete with meaningless drama, and I love it. What’s funny is that I’ve also got Lorde on repeat these days and each song reminds me of a GG episode. I mean, the singer is super young… is it odd to think that she may have written her lyrics based on the show? Royals especially reminds me of it. But she’s probably too cool for all that 😉
