It was Oprah & Deepak’s 21-Day Meditation Experience™, Expanding Your Happiness in August, 2014, that helped me make meditation a daily practice. Three months later and I’m still not advanced or disciplined enough to meditate on my own, though sometimes I try and succeed, I still prefer a guided meditation… and after searching the internet for at least a month after the first experience ended, I found that Deepak’s to be the best.

It was about a month and a half into my first “experience” and true run with a daily meditation practice when I realized how much my daily meditations were helping my overall wellness as well as lessened my anxiety. It’s not an instant cure-all, in the sense that it doesn’t work if you don’t do it every day –for instance, when you get anxious, it won’t lessen the panic associated with anxiety in that moment if you only do it in those moments– You have to do it daily and then randomly, as if magically almost, your mind and brain is different and the way you respond to things is different and then if you do have a moment of panic, you suddenly have a new bag of tools within you to cope in a whole new way.

It’s pretty amazing, and I 100% recommend it to everyone, whether you experience anxiety or not. And this program is what helped me make it a daily habit, and part of my ritual or routine. My favorite time to meditate is in the morning, while I’m still in bed, about 5-10 minutes after waking up and right about when my mind begins to literally SWIRL with thoughts. It’s the perfect time to quiet it down, and it’s not always easy.
