‘Preachers of LA’ First Lady Sunday Best Style Guide

This is a sponsored post brought to you by Oxygen … All opinions are my own.

Have you seen the new show on the Oxygen network called Preachers of L.A. yet? I randomly caught an episode the other night and literally could. not. stop. watching! I was blissfully unaware that this type of lifestyle even existed, and it’s surprisingly captivating to watch.

The show offers a rare glimpse into the lives of six high-profile pastors from Los Angeles. From pro skateboarder Pastor Jay Haizlip to Grace Jones’ brother Bishop Noel Jones to Bishop Clarence McClendon, who reaches 250 million homes via international broadcast each week. Their wives and girlfriends though, given the “First Lady” title, are what intrigue me, of course… and mostly, their amazingly detailed Sunday Best/High Tea ensembles. Look at these fabulous HATS!

So I thought it would be fun to curate my own Sunday Best look that I might wear if I were a “First Lady” attending a High Tea… sparing no expense, of course!

Sunday best-1

Don’t you think it would be so much fun to have a day every week to get all dressed up?

When my mom talks about her young life in the ’50s and early ’60s, she says that Sundays at church were an event! An amazing fashion show of women parading the pews in their Sunday Best. It’s a shame we don’t have a reason to get all dressed up from head to toe anymore… it would definitely motivate me to go to church {if I were still a practicing Catholic, that is}.

Catch new episodes of ‘Preachers of L.A.‘ Wednesdays at 10/9c!
