A Few Birthday Gifts Revealed

Canon Power Shot SX1 IS Digital Camera

My Father-in-law bestowed upon me this fabulous new digital camera for my birthday and I am so excited about it I can’t even begin to explain it to you. What I will explain is why I chose the Canon Power Shot SX1 IS over, let’s just say, a non-power-shot-digital-SLR camera …and the reason is . . .I am not a photographer! Nor am I trying to be one. As I have stated in the past, I have great respect for photographers and I don’t want to compete. Honestly, I just wanted a great camera that would give me a few technical options and make my photos look great and this camera has far more options than just that. And best of all IT HAS A REMOTE …so I don’t have to run back and forth every 3 shots for my outfit posts. I am beyond excited! …but now I just have to learn how to use it …which shouldn’t take long BECAUSE IT’S A POWER SHOT ..yes, I’m yelling.

Bloomingdales Gift Cards 2009

Almost $1000 in Bloomingdales gift cards! Do you know what that means?!?!?! A NEW HANDBAG. …and/or Sunglasses …for free {for me anyway ;)}. A friend was over when I squealed this aloud and he replied …”You can only get 2 things with all that money?” …to which I replied …”I can BARELY get two things with all this money!” ….but it’s a birthday gift, it’s supposed to be semi-extravagant, right?

This is the greatest birthday trick ever, in my opinion. You tell anyone who asks you what you want for your birthday a gift card for the exact same place …wherever that may be. And then you have enough gift card moola to get whatever you want!

So, look forward to a handbag post soon. Of course I’ll have to do a little {or a lot} of online research and I’ll look forward to all of your opinions! {~ I’ve already got a bunch in my cart but I’m not loving any of them yet~ }
