Ros is a food/lifestyle photographer based in the Cotswolds/Oxford (which, of course reminds me of the movie The Holiday!)
In a world where so many Instagram feeds are BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT, I love when I come across a really dark and moody feed with rich deep tones and a bit of grittiness as well. They tell a different kind of story… one that you have to think about a little bit more, one that is not directly in your face, but a textural visual idea you need to dive into to understand. I love that.
While all of her photos are incredibly beautiful… and you can purchase prints here! … I love the overhead shots on the table from above (much like the ones I’ve featured here). Along with the rich hues I mentioned above, I love the enhanced sculptural feel of the objects and food, which seem to pop out from the background. She allows certain bright colors from the foods to shine, using lighting carefully to create shadows and highlights… Some of them almost feel and look like paintings!
