Ask Yourself: What If Money Was No Object?

What would you like your life to be like?

What do you want your days to look like; your weeks, months, years?

If you’re not honest with yourself, you’ll never get what you want. If every idea you have is thrown to the wayside because you talk yourself out of it before you ever try it, you’ll never get what you want in this life.

What would you like to do if money were no object? How would you REALLY enjoy living your life? Maybe you’re already enjoying your life as it is and maybe you’ve already asked yourself these questions and are on a path to your dream life. Maybe you’re already there… Congrats, this is where happiness lies.

Don’t you think that we should be living the life we choose rather than doing what our parents did or what we think we’re “supposed to do”? Doing what we love makes us happy, makes others happy, and gives back to the world. It’s not selfish because it comes full circle.

I think we all deserve to live a life where we enjoy our days doing what we love to do. And though this does take thinking out of the box for some, and it does take time and planning and being honest with yourself and others, it can happen. It won’t happen over night but if you’re working toward your dream job, your dream life, then the journey does indeed become just as exciting {if not more so} than the actual getting there.

Obviously some are in places in their lives where they don’t think they have the option to think in these terms or ask these types of questions. With incomes to earn and bills to pay and kids to feed, life is challenging and it’s understandable to shut this out completely… but this little 3minute video really makes a big impact I think, in forcing us to really think about what we want in this world where we get to spend so little time being alive.

* British philosopher and writer Alan Watts (1915-1973), popularized Eastern philosophy for a Western audience. | Find the 3min video here if you cannot see it above.

If money were no object, what would you really want to spend your time doing? I think it’s time to start setting those plans and goals into action to begin living the life of your dreams, because for most people, the Dream Life Fairy doesn’t just come knocking on your door one day and handing it to you. It takes work… but it’s worth every minute of it.

Happy Monday Thoughts!

I think a lot of things in my life would be different if money was no object. I guess money doesn’t buy happiness but it does help you to get there – not the money itself, but what you can do with it and accomplish.

Just exploring local areas….lots to explore in my area. And, it doesn’t cost a cent! (more or less) Often times we don’t have to have a lot of money in order to do what we love. I believe that we should have a ‘routine’. Maybe take/make the time every week to do some local exploring. You’ll be surprised to find a lot of nice people doing the same thing!

I was working my ass of as 2IC of a million dollar a year business and HATING it in the end. So I quit and went on an extended holiday in the UK. When I get back to NZ I’m not going to work such crazy hours. I’m going to buy a cello and play in an orchestra (I can play but I don’t a cello – in case that seemed like a crazy impulse) and I’m going to be a volunteer dog walker for the SPCA. Life is grand

If money were no object, first, I’d finish school and not worry about my $20,000 student loan for a YEAR of school. Yep. Also, I would be thrifting everyday. I’d probably use that and then start doing thrifted based interior design. It would be so much fun. Also, gardening. I would garden all the time if I could and had the money/resources to do it.

    Much Love,

Hmm… not sure but I do know that money doesn’t buy happiness but it does buy a lot of shoes.
All jokes aside, I think I would travel the world and join archeological digs. I would love to be like Indiana Jones in a bra.

I would blog full time (when not looking after my gorgeous son). If I wasn’t blogging, I’d be out living my life so I had plenty of inspiration 🙂

sometimes i have this idea to live in a small house in the woods, surrounded by nature. I would cultivate vegetable and fruits, gardening, taking care for animals (dogs, cats, cows, chicken…etc). Or making jewelry. But there´s still an absence of money, because i have to buy food (or other stuff! that i´m not able to produce. So my final opinion is, that money as an object, is a part of our lives, but we can not allow it to impact our mind and soul. Too much money messes a man´s charakter and no money makes no happiness too. There have to be some balance, harmony. And sorry for my English. 😀

i love this!!! i just don’t want to be tired anymore! lol i’m very burnt out at my present job, but i can’t break away with a career change just yet- but i’m getting there. if money were no object in my life- i would probably adopt a bunch of kiddos, stay at home full time, possibly blog (!!) and fill my days with home renovation, thrifting, painting, being outside, and just breathing in this beautiful world!!!

Doing the things we love changes our lives because it brings joy to the heart and therefore we become happier people.
