I’m planning a little backyard BBQ party for the end of July which will extend into the evening and since our lighting is very minimal out there, I was looking for easy lighting ideas and found this awesome Hula Hoop chandelier DIY by Sara {image above}.
The easiest and most efficient way to go about recreating this pretty hanging light would be to simply wrap little white lights around the hula hoop or use icicle lights to hang down to create a chandelier of sorts…
However, I also love the DIY Hula Hoop Orb Pendant Light below, and thought of wrapping single-stranded lights around it to create a similar hanging lamp like in the last photo from Restaurant Aria, in Toronto… but it would take a bit more work, of course. They’re both kind of fabulous though, don’t you think?

would love to see that 2nd one come to life in a DIY!

That hula hoop light is fabulous! I think it would take much less work than the orb, and I like the chandelier quality of the icicle lights 🙂

Looks beautiful! Especially in the setting of a backyard party 🙂 I would love to try it out.

Will you please tell me where I could purchase those globe lights you have in your last picture? (multiple lit globes over dining tables) I have seen many pictures of this type of lighting, but can not seem to find out who makes them. If you could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks – Farah Crawford
