#MondayMotivation // A Little Bit of Self-Awareness Goes a Long way

to truly fit in you have to stand out

Today’s Monday Motivation is less about how to motivate yourself to work harder and do more and more about self-awareness and how to BE more… be more of YOU.

Regardless of how hard you work, if you don’t know yourself and aren’t working authentically, your efforts will be in vain. True, meaningful success comes to those who feel the passion for the project because they also have a strong sense of “why” behind it.

Sometimes it comes so naturally, you don’t even recognize it… I love that feeling.

All the greats talk about having self-awareness and being authentic and when you are moved by that, in such a way, there is no such thing as failure.

I agree. To some extent, I have lived and know these truths as well. I also know that no matter how hard you continue to work at something, when the “why” is gone, the motivation and fuel behind it is gone as well. It’s just not the same.

Self awareness comes to those who are honest and truthful about who they are. And that in itself is hard work.

As hard as it is to notice our faults, once we accept them, we have the choice to change them and that is how we control our present and create our future. This is self-awareness.

To continually question our actions to make sure they’re aligned with who we want to be instead of who our ego tells us to be, is growth… and self awareness follows.

To learn how to control our emotions and respond to events rather than just flippantly reacting to situations means we are evolving… and self awareness then follows.

Commit to creating a better YOU every day, or as often as possible. Recognize when you’re out of synch but try not to beat yourself up about it. (I struggle with this)

Ask yourself if what you’re doing now and what you’re focusing on currently is moving you toward reaching your goals or holding you back from them. Make the necessary changes each day by creating new positive habits that help you achieve goals rather than keep you stuck in a situation you aren’t happy with or living as a person you just aren’t meant to be anymore.

You are being presented with a choice: evolve or remain. If you choose to remain unchanged, you will be presented with the same challenges, the same routine, the same storms, the same situations, until you learn from them, until you love yourself enough to say “no more”, until you choose change.

If you choose to evolve, you will connect with the strength within you, you will explore what lies outside the comfort zone, you will awaken to love, you will become, you will be. You have everything you need.

Choose to evolve. Choose love. ~ Creig Crippen
