Everything that you re going through is preparing you for what you asked for.
Wow. I mean… wow. This quote really blew my mind.
Sure, it’s saying the same exact thing I’ve heard and read a million times before, but I’ve never seen it in these exact words. AND these exact words in this exact sentence really struck me right in the face – ( I heart Huckabees anyone? #thepurebeing #ballthing )
It hit home and gave me that A-HA moment more than I could have imagined, and I just stared at it for a moment saying OMG YES!
Sometimes words just hit you like a ton of bricks and you finally get it. Sometimes you need to see a different perspective to be grateful for what you have. Sometimes you need a reminder that all the hard work is going to pay off! Sometimes you know you’re in a negative place but as aware of it as you may be, trying each day to get out of it, kind of keeps you right in the thick of it.
Sometimes when we’re focusing on trying to get out of the darkness, our focus is still on the darkness. We are almost always still swirling around where the problem lies instead of in solution land. It’s not until we get out of that space entirely (mentally or physically) that we can find ourselves in a new energy field and flow and begin working creatively on other things that we can see the light in the darkness. And when it finally lightens up, it feels like magic.
It’s as if the darkness was there only to lead us to the right path… which is basically saying the same thing as the quote!
Many of my recent written posts and #MondayMotivations have been centered around this topic and I fear it’s because I’m working so diligently in a forward motion on so many things that are still not complete and that I sill feel I have very little control of… and it makes me feel slightly insane. I’m sure there are lessons in this, but right now, I just want (positive) closure on at least one of them!
The only real thing I can do is to keep working an be patient, knowing that all will eventually work out as planned. But as the days go by, my patience wears thin and I begin to doubt it all… until I get a smack in the face that brings me back to the calm knowing where faith and patience meet up.
And this probably happens weekly. I begin calm and open and happily working at any pace I can to keep all the balls rolling forward… and the problems begin when I start anticipating and then expecting results… and when the result are still not happening, I begin to lose patience… and then I get a reminder to let it all unfold as it may, sit back, stay calm and have a little faith.
BUT FOR HOW LONG?!?!?! … see what I mean 😉
Sometimes it just takes one word… breathe. And one breath… to settle into mindfulness.
As I looked at the image above, I could feel myself listening to it’s demands… breathe. I did. And then I felt calm. It’s not so much the word, it’s what the word means (to me, to you) and how you feel when you hear, see, do it.
To me, BREATHE means notice THIS EXACT MOMENT you are in, that everything is okay, and that you can relax into it and about it all. It’s amazing how one word can have a much larger meaning than the actual verb that it is. It’s more than just the act of breathing, which we do unconsciously all day every day whether we are awake or asleep, aware or unaware (which is amazing in and of itself)… but it’s about suddenly recognizing it to be so much more.
Relax, it’s going to be okay. Trust in the timing of life… and breathe.
