I saw so many pale nails on the Spring 2013 runways but wasn’t quite really ready to give up on fun nail art designs just yet, so I thought I’d play around with some light neutrals and here’s what I came up with. It is simply a take on the Chanel nails from last year with an added stripe down the center, which you can obviously create with any three colors… but I’m loving these {though they’re a bit challenging to photograph & much more vivid in reality}
I suppose I should get to thinking about a new take on nails for Valentine’s Day in the coming weeks… but I’m still loving last year’s V-day Nails though.
Here’s what I used…
* Sephora by O.P.I. in “White Hot” {white}
* Sally Hansen in “Cafe Au Lait” {flesh tone}
* Sonia Kashuk in “Smoke and Mirrors” {silver}
Here’s how I did it…
* Apply two coats of your base color {white} and allow it to dry.
* Carefully apply your flesh tone coat on top of your base color, leaving it showing on the edges. You need patience with this step… It’s easiest if you begin with your center stroke and then work out from there. My nails are really tiny so on my pinky, for example, I only need one stroke to create the look. I used two coats for this layer as well. Let dry.
* Like I’ve said before, this Sonia Kashuk silver metallic polish is really great. It goes on so easily without being too thick or too thin and drippy. I brushed much of the polish off of the brush to create a thinner line than the last. I only used one coat of silver.
* Finish with your favorite top coat. I used Seche Vite for this one.
Voila… Voila!
Have Fun!
