I recently {and finally} moved a few items around in our living room/great room and have an open corner that is just screaming for a bright green, large leafed and substantial indoor tree. Back in LA, I’d always opt for large palms or Banana Leaf trees for indoors, but I’m not exactly sure a palm would last up here, or if they even sell them at the local nurseries. And really, I think this room calls for a little something else.
But I’d love a large-leafed and floppy tree to fill the space, soften the corner and counter all the pine needles outdoors. I think it would add a nice pop of green and bring life to the room as well.
I immediately gravitate toward the Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree {above} because they’ve been in nearly every home decor magazine photo for the past few years. However, I hate to be too trendy and thought I may as well look around for other options… and then decided to share my search here.
I’m leaning towards the umbrella tree, and the large-leafed tree in the photo directly below… but also kind of loving the fruit trees {can you keep fruit trees in your home?}… if you know what any of these are {or if I’ve gotten any names or links wrong, please let me know}
