Sunday Crush // Sheer & Sparkly Tulle Star Dress & Skirt

sheer and sparkly skirt with glitter starts in pink

Since I haven’t really been feeling any of the houses on the market lately, it felt a little contrived just posting about any old house that I wasn’t truly crushing on… so I decided to take my Sunday Crush to another level. Fashion.

I’ve had this Etsy shop LirikaMatoshi saved in my tabs for over two weeks now which means one thing only: I LOVE IT.

I love all of her handmade whimsical items but the dress is what initially caught my eye… it’s sheer, it comes in a handful of pretty colors, it’s whimsical, it’s pretty but also a little sexy and it’s cute as well. It’s this glitter star print that I’m loving and I can’t decide which is cuter (or will get more wear), the dress or the skirt(?)

For one, I love the dress because it can be layered over so many different things to give it different looks and two, if you add a sweater OVER it, it becomes a skirt, so it’s a two in one really.

However, the skirt is much fuller, or at least it looks like it is in the photos, so then you wouldn’t have to worry about what to wear under it because you’re completely covered.

At $150 each, they’re both a little expensive BUT they’re also handmade and delicate and intricate yet simple at the same time. Do I think it’s worth it for the price? Yes, 100% – but the real question is, will I wear it now and for years to come? That’s usually how I decide on an item; if I see myself wearing it in 20 years, it’s got immense value. I have a closet full of items I’ve had for over twenty years that I still wear. Maybe not on the regular, but inevitably, I’ll pull them out now and again after years of not wearing them and integrate them into my latest and greatest. Sure, I’ve made buying decisions that weren’t always on point, but for the most part, I like to stick to this system and usually it works… for me.

Does it make me a boring style blogger? Maybe… because you’ve seen many of my items time and time again, even though that’s part of the fun of it for me; figuring out how to wear an item in a way that makes it look completely new and different and fresh. But many bloggers are just constantly buying buying buying new new new. I get it. But it’s not me.

I like pieces that I know are going to last and that I can wear for years to come. I build my wardrobe in that way and always have.

Anyway, back to the dress/skirt dilemma. I think really, the dress will win because when I think about it, I don’t often wear skirts. SO there you have it. A rambling of me making a decision. In the end, will I even buy either? I dunno, I’ll let you know. But for now, I can dream… because I really love this dress.

She also makes the sheer starry socks in a huge variety of colors and style… they’re the perfect combination of cute and sexy.
