What I’m Wearing…
* Forest green Corduroy Lee Modern Vintage Union-alls… also seen here (they’re having a sale now 25% OFF WITH CODE EXTRA25)
* BB Dakota dusty rose faux fur coat, a few years old – also seen here – Similar style at Anthropology
* Black Dr. Marten Serena boots with the (faux) fur – still faves. Also the faux fur lining makes them way more comfortable and warm for fall/winter.
* Barton Perreira sunglasses – which is the only thing in this outfit I have actually retired. Not because I don’t still love them, but because I had just worn them for so many years it was time for something new. I haven’t bought a new pair yet, but I’m currently wearing an older pair of Phillip Lim tortoise shells that are working for now. But it’s definitely time for a new look of sunglasses -like these maybe.
* Marc Jacobs pillow bag… another item I’ve been using for a few years because I haven’t found anything better for daily use. I love the side and the shape and it gives a more casual Chanel vibe, which I like
Well it wouldn’t be fall (or spring) if I didn’t share my favorite go-to throw-on outfit consisting of my forest green corduroy coveralls (technically called Union-alls by Lee), which as you know, I’ve been wearing for years now in a plentitude of different colors and fabrics because they remain my most comfortable and most complimented items of clothing in my closet. Yes, I still love them… and YES, I still wear them, though once the winter temps arrive, it’s too cold to wear them alone. I have been known to layer turtlenecks underneath, and even with the thicker corduroy, they’re not warm enough for winter (unless I’m in the house). They are the perfect transitional item for spring and fall though and I’ll continue wearing them until they are threadbare and/or the aren’t available any longer. I am still kicking myself for not buying the dusty pink ones they had. It was the same color as this button down dress, but they sold out so fast I wasn’t able to get a pair. I’m still sad about it 😉
Basic Girl Fall…
What I’m Wearing…
* Cozy oversized rust turtleneck sweater I got at my friend Caroline’s local shop called Bohemian Village
* Skinny cropped jeans by Mother, also old and I think the last time I wore them was this day
* Vintage Louis Vuitton Looping MM bag
* Barton Perriera sunglasses
* Brown Dr Martens Serena boots
The only thing these photos are missing are a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte… or actual pumpkins! Yes, it’s a totally basic outfit, which is probably why I never posted it. It seemed too easy, but I don’t hate it. It’s another easy throw-on-and-go look, which really, all of these are. I would probably wear it all again but with different jeans. I think these jeans have seen their day in the sun and I honestly think this was the last time I wore them. I think skinny jeans in general have seen their day in the sun, but also, I’m just over wearing tight jeans. I want loose pants, but I’m not sure fashion is there yet. I am seeing a lot of flares, but flares without heels just become soggy ripped up hems and I am not interested in revisiting the early 00’s for that look nor am I interested in wearing heels, so we’ll see what happens in pant and denim trends in the coming seasons… and for the record, I AM NOT A FAN OF PUMPKIN SPICE ANYTHING, not that there’s anything wrong with it per se, but yuck 😉
Cozy Casual Library Look…
What I’m Wearing…
* Plaid coat (still a fave – seen in my last Outfit Post)
* Old baggy cargo pants by J Brand I think (seen here and here
* Little grey sweater (I think it’s the one with the heart elbow patches, yes, still wearing it)
* Barton Perriera sunglasses
* Rust beanie from Lee
* Brown Dr Martens Serena boots
Speaking of never wanting to wear tight pants, this was one of those days and I threw on my old baggy cargo pants and little grey sweater and covered the entire look with my big plaid coat. Though I always feel a little tomboy vibe when I’m wearing these pants and even this beanie.. I dunno, maybe like snowboard-girl vibe, which I love, but it’s not fully authentically “me”, but I didn’t mind it that day. I was so comfy and warm and that’s all I cared about. Would I wear this today? Actually yeah, probably. I could even switch out the sweater for black and add black boots or rust and keep the brown boots with the plaid coat or add a different coat altogether. It’s an easily interchangeable casual look that I like.
Simple Leggings Look with an Upgrade…
What I’m Wearing…
* Victoria’s Secret fold-over yoga leggings, always
* Old Flower print sweatshirt ~ Altuzarra for Target collection from 2014 – which I still think is one of the best designer collabs
* Army green cozy jacket from Hollister (gift from Chad) and SO SOFT! It’s on sale right now!
* Old black furry beanie (still a fave)
* Black Dr Marten Serena boots (still faves, obviously)
* Marc Jacobs pillow bag
I love a good leggings day and I also love dressing them up a bit like I did here. I mean, no it’s not dressed up but it’s also not fully “workout wear” either, like when I throw on a sweatshirt and my nikes because I’m out for a walk. But whenever I add my docs to my leggings or my sweats I feel like I’ve suddenly stepped up the entire look from pajama or workout to actual outfit. This one is easily swapped with any sweater and jacket (like in this look) and it’s another throw-on-and-go look I love and would definitely wear now. Here’ another similar look in winter that I’d wear again in a heartbeat.
FINAL NOTE: I think what’s most beautiful about the photos above is the backdrop. Fall is truly magical up here, like you see in movies and cameras rarely capture it. But look at the size and colors of the trees behind and surrounding me. The only downfall truly is when we get early rain (pun intended, obviously 😉 – because the wind and rain force all the leaves off of the trees when maybe they weren’t quite ready to fall.
Happy Tuesday Lovecats!
