It’s beginning to get spooky around here

Halloween Decor - skeletons

I’m kind of really excited for holiday decorating this year and since we’re having a Halloween party, it gives me that extra motivation to go all out on spookiness. While I do have some Halloween decorations from a few years back, I thought I’d add a few new ones to the mix and probably DIY some throughout the month as well. So where do you go for Halloween decor when you don’t want to actually “go” anywhere for it? That’s right, Amazon.com.halloween decorations, halloween decorating ideas

I tend to lean towards campy decor with a sense of humor as opposed to straight out cuteness but I also like a bit of creepiness for All Hallows Eve authenticity. So I ordered the silly little See Speak Hear No Evil Skulls Skeleton Figurines{seen above}, a spooky old ripped cloth, some cobwebs,a few tombstones for the front yard, and bag of skeleton bones.

I came home yesterday afternoon to a few boxes of fun and pulled out the bag of bones and placed them by the fireplace temporarily, thinking I’d use them as part of the tabletop decor come party time. But by placing them BY the fireplace, it dawned on me to just put them IN the fireplace as if we burned a body and all was left were the bones …because ew, right?

Wait. Would the bones burn too? Probably. But who cares, it’s still totally creepy.

It’s just the beginning …and I already love it.
