New Beginnings, Writing, Healing, Becoming… Me

I’ve found a certain peace at Substack, a deeper sense of being and writing that I’m enjoying so much and I know many of you have been reading and subscribing over there, and I want to thank you so much for joining me on yet another life journey, as you have for so many years right here (and everywhere else!).

I still love this OG space and I’m hoping to commit to it more starting in March, but I felt a bit boxed in here, like I could only write and talk about certain things, the things I’ve always shared, which I love, but I’ve also changed a bit and wanted to be able to spread my wings a little bit more, which I can and do and have, there. It also feels much lighter here, which I love, and I want to keep it that way. For years I have been trying to integrate my new life here, but it never seemed to fit right. I still love fashion and home decor and sharing my style and DIYs here, and so that is what will remain.

At Substack, I feel like I can dive a little bit deeper, be a little more open and vulnerable… because there’s a paywall.

I keep most of my posts free, but when I get a little too deep below the surface and I start feeling itchy and antsy and a bit fidgety and scared to keep going, I just put up a paywall 😊 and for some reason, this allows me to continue, knowing that only truly those of you who are invested can see it, and that feels like trust I guess. It feels safe.

I’m not sure, but I do feel like I can expand there in ways I can’t here, and it’s different. There are no rules, it’s brand new, and I’m loving it. I’m not sure if after February I’ll continue posting every single day, but I do plan on almost every day. I want to keep my writing commitment to myself because I like it and it makes me feel good and I feel like I have already changed because of it and that is SOMETHING. I also want to commit to posting here more again with outfits and home decor and all the other things I love and have loved sharing with you for all these years but have been inconsistent in the last seven of them.

Anyway, I’ve been sharing many of my Substack posts on my IG stories to read, but just in case you haven’t seen them and are interested, you can find me almost daily at love, Maegan… Extended on Substack. You don’t have to subscribe to read the free posts (click NO THANKS or CONTINUE READING), but if you do subscribe, my posts will show up in your email inbox and you can read them entirely without clicking through to the site. If you choose to be a paid subscriber (thank you 😊 ) you can read the paid posts as well. Usually some of the paid posts are free… until they get a little more personal and then up goes the paywall for my own emotional security 😆

This is what it looks like… if you haven’t been there yet

* NOTE: I’ve noticed new ads popping up here on my home screen and I have no idea why. I didn’t change anything or add/ads so I’m working on that. I’ve also realized my shopping widgets aren’t working on the computer versions of my site but they are working on the mobile versions, weird. And lastly, my subscriptions here have NOT been working for a month, so this is a bit of a tester, and I hope it goes out to you. IF not, please let me know… and if you want to check out my last posts that didn’t go out, click these links below:
