I’m just going to start by saying that I do NOT want summer to end this year! I am not even close to being ready for freezing temps and twenty layers of clothes and boots and snow… as beautiful as it is, and as much as I do love winters up here in Lake Arrowhead, I am begging for these warm days and summer nights to stick around a little longer. I know it’s only August, but I just keep feeling like fall is already upon us and leaves are changing colors and people are talking about pumpkin spice everything and I AM NOT READY TO LET GO OF SUMMER YET!!!
That said, we are so lucky to have had access to a boat these last two summers, it has completely changed the way we summer and it has been a total blessing especially during these COVID times when we feel a little trapped.
The boat has been our escape, our freedom, our island in the sun and makes us feel like we’re taking mini vacations without having to go anywhere at all.

On this particular summer evening we hadn’t planned on going out on the lake, which made our spontaneous getaway even more exciting.
We stopped for dinner at The Grill at Antlers in Twin Peaks and I’ll be honest, their Mojitos are SO GOOD that they might have been the driving force behind our idea to jump on the boat afterwards… and well, the heat, because I think this was during the little heat wave we had where the temps almost made us wish it was winter, but not quite 😉
Antlers is as close as you get to a fine dining experience on the mountain, and the food is great. Before COVID they had sushi Wed-Saturdays in their upstairs dining room, but now they offer sushi specials during the week along with their regular menu.
We ALWAYS order Mojitos and a few appetizers… the fried avocado and bruschetta apps are just to die for and on this night they filled me up so much I only ordered a salad as a main dish. Chad ordered the pesto tortellini and I usually get the roasted chicken… we tend to stick to what we love, and both of these menu items are delish!
The silver lining that came from the 2020 lock down (and I know this also because I own a bar/restaurant) is that the county became very lenient about allowing “take-out cocktails”… as long as they have lids and are taped up, we’re good to go. So smack in the middle of our early dinner/late lunch (our schedules are very wacky, don’t ask, lol) we packed up the rest of our food to go, asked for a few more Mojitos “to-go”, headed home to change into our swim suits and went straight to the lake.
We made it out on the boat to catch a few rays before the incredible sunset and as I’ve said a million times before… it. was. magical.

In other news, this bikini top is amazing. I have it in 4 colors (unfortunately this one is sold out now) but I started with a black one because I have about 5 pairs of black bikini bottoms I love and zero tops that I loved to go with them. So I bought this on a whim and loved it so much I went back to amazon and bought it in 4 other colors to match other solid bottoms I also had no tops for.
The triangle tops were $19.99 when I bought them but I think some prints/colors are even less expensive now. I adore triangle tops but they NEVER have any support and these are lined and have light cups built into the top (not removable) to not only push up the ladies, but offer more support without strangling the back of my neck. You can also adjust the center string/tie to fit your own shape, which I love because you can literally customize it to fit exactly how you want it to. I’m a small 34 C and I bought it in a medium. I do have to let you know though that they tend to soak up water (LOL) so I just use my arms to press on the sides to sort of “squeeze” the water out after taking a dip. That makes me giggle. Anyway, this is in no way sponsored, I just found a bikini top that is amazing (for the price especially!) and had to share. You can see the black bikini top here and here in this post. I have three more colors I haven’t even worn yet!
