The First Season I Actually Enjoyed Football

If you follow me on Twitter, you know I’m a New York Jets fan. And if you read this post, you know why. And this season I actually enjoyed football. Well, to be honest, I enjoyed watching Jets games. I din’t watch too many of the rest. And even though the husband said “The Jets are gonna SUCK this year” I cheered for and believed in them every single game and they didn’t suck this year. They were one win away from playing in the Super Bowl today. Though had they won that game against the Steelers a few weeks ago to secure their place in the arena today, I would actually care about watching the Super Bowl. However, I assume it would have been a pretty difficult day for Brett Favre to watch his two ex-teams {the Packers & the Jets} both make it to the Super Bowl without him. So I guess, for the sake of Favre’s last stitch of dignity, it’s probably better that the NY Jets didn’t make it this year. But next year. Next year they’ll be there for sure.

Look at me talking about football like I know anything at all 😉 pssht.

Happy Super Bowl Day!
May the best team win

Hi, Maeg…my thoughts exactly, even though I still really didn’t care about football even when the JETS were winning…???
    Haa haa!
Football has been a bigger deal for me this year since I started working at a sports grill, with 16 HDTVs, and realized how serious some people take it…like…SERiOUS.

    Anyway, go CHeeSeheads!

I’m gonna go ahead and be the downer and say neither, since several first string players on both teams have been accused of multiple rapes that have been swept under the rug, which is especially infuriating with all the press around Dallas’s efforts to ensure that human sex trafficking not happen during the Super Bowl this year.

That, and I live in Chicago (so Go BEARS) and went to Miami U and Roethlisberger is an asshole, accused of several MORE rapes there.

I’ll say it: I lit a candle and prayed for a Jets/Bears Super Bowl.

    Go Steelers!

I’m not much of a football fan at all, but my hometown team is playing. The team from my adopted town (the Chicago Bears) almost made the Superbowl, so I’ve been a bit more aware of it this year than I otherwise might have been.

My husband grew up in Green Bay, and we get back there for a lot of the Packer games…so Go Pack!

However, years ago I had to travel to Pittsburgh for work, and the people were so nice and the city itself was so cool that since then I’ve had a soft spot for the Steelers.

But gotta go Pack all the way!

Is it bad that I really, really just don’t care?!? I feel un-American, but I probably won’t even watch. I’m ready for college football to come back!

I live in Green Bay so the Packers! I’ve watched them since I was 5 and have loved them thru the past 21 years. I’d be heart broken if they lost.

And I was rooting for the Jets to make it to the playoff as well! I had thought it would be awesome if two teams that weren’t expected to make it this far did! I was so disappointed they didn’t make it!
