Strange What Desire Will Make Foolish People Do

What I’m Wearing…

* Cropped lavender sweatshirtseen here with my Unionalls / also seen here in dusty rose / and here in rust for fall / and here in white – there are more, lol, I adore this sweatshirt and bought it in so many colors because it’s so cozy and thick and is under $25 on Amazon. I wear it casually or more dressed up, layered over dresses and jumpsuits, or on its own, like this … and have been for years now. Where has the time gone? SERIOUSLY!?!?!?
* Black sweatpants from Hollister
* Purple socks
* Vintage pink Prada nylon bag – I purchased this in 2002-2003 and used it quite a lot last summer. It needs a good cleaning, but I’m scared it will ruin it.
* Oversized square mirrored truck stop sunglasses
* Nike dunks high

* Title: Chris Isaak – Wicked Game

The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
It’s strange what desire will make foolish people do

I never dreamed that I’d meet somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I’d lose somebody like you
What a wicked game you play, to make me feel this way
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you
What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way
What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you
No, I don’t wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart) – With you

The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
Strange what desire will make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I’d love somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I’d lose somebody like you

The lyrics of this song just hit differently now than they did way back in the early ’90s when I was a wee teen, thinking I knew what heartbreak felt like, all the while having no idea. I didn’t know then it would take nearly 30 more years to truly understand betrayal and karma and heartbreak. I remember this song and video so vividly. Everything was in black and white during that time; Calvin Klein ads, videos, magazine ads, the posters we hung on our walls. The dark romance of it all took years to unfold. I didn’t know then that it was setting me up for a future lifetime of toxic relationships where I fell for Dylan over Brandon… 😏 If you know you know.

I used to think this was a love song but really, it’s an anti-love song, but not quite a hate song. More like a I’ve learned my lesson and never want to fall in love again kind of song, with maybe a hint of indifference.

It popped up on a reel on Instagram last night and it’s been in my had ever since.

I wore this when I was still up in Lake Arrowhead, on a chilly day, as so many were up there. It’s so nice to be where it’s warm again. The default setting is warm instead of cold, and I missed that more than I realized.

These are silly photos and a silly, comfy/casual outfit, but I have so many on my camera roll that I never shared, I figured now was the time to do so. It’s definitely fall, however it’s been 90 this week, so I won’t be wearing any of this for a hot minute.

I’m going to say it in every post until I get a handle on it but… sorry about all the ads 😵‍💫

Happy Hump Day Lovecats!
